Michael has spent the last 12 years in elite and high performance sport, working with athletes and coaches from over 25 different sports across the English (EIS), Welsh (WIS) and Northern Ireland (SINI) institutes of sport. He is responsible for all of our training programme design here at ENC.
Through his company Johnston Performance Science, Michael currently consults on strength and power development, training adaptation and recovery to the British Athletics team, as well as a handful of physique and strength athletes.
He gained his PhD from Swansea University where he investigated the physiological, neuromuscular and hormonal responses to maximal speed training.
When not in the gym, Michael enjoys spending time with his family and running with his dog, storm.
